Lady Mengjiang Opera Poster

I was highly inspired by Peking Opera, namely "Lady Menjiang." Lady MengJiang is a legendary Chinese figure known for her loyalty and extraordinary grief. Her story involves her husband being conscripted to work on the Great Wall. Sadly, he dies due to the harsh conditions. Unknowing of his death, she makes a long and treacherous journey to bring him winter clothes. Upon discovering his death, her immense sorrow causes the Great Wall to collapse, symbolizing her deep love and sacrifice. Peking Opera clothing is highly symbolic and ornate, reflecting character types, social status, and personality. Lady Mengjiang is illustrated in red to symbolize loyalty, courage, and devotion.
